HERV

I have used HERV as my ID since 2002. It is acronym of Human Endogenous Retrovirus, a little part of our genome composed of sequences with viral origin. HERVs are traces of ancient infections that affected the primates' germ, and became stable elements at the interface between self and foreign DNA.
